Escape the urban confines with your family for a weekend. We'll provide the meals, the campsites, and the activities for your family. Just bring a tent and sleeping bags. We'll take care of the rest! This year and next, we're conducting trips with a variety of organizations, including schools, family reunions, the San Diego Natural History Museum, and the Yosemite Association.

If you would like us to help conduct a camping trip for your own group, let us know.

2009 Calendar of Trips

These past few years have seen continued changes come to Family Adventure Tours. One change is that the trips have shifted mostly to those booked by groups. So, this year, there are just a few trips open to all. These include:

- Sequoia National Monument, - Friday-Sunday, July 3-5, 2009 (with an option to join us on July 3)

This is our annual trip to the Sierra Nevada, and a gorgeous group campsite at Quaking Aspen Campground, one of the prettiest places to camp in the mountains of California. Cost: $110 for adults, $75 for kids, all meals from Friday night through Sunday morning. We'll hike to a grove of giant sequoias, make a wildflower walk around our the meadow next to our campground, hike to the top of a granite dome, and finish the trip with a visit to the California Hot Springs. We'll also offer a hike to the fascinating Needles Fire Lookout, perched atop an 8,000 foot granite spire, with it's grand views of the Kern River Canyon. Optional activities include wading and fishing in nearby Peppermint Creek, and there are mountain biking trails.

- Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite - Four sessions, two in July, 18-21, and 23-26, and two in August, 8-11 and 13-16.

Explore the Hgh Country in Yosemite National Park, on an outing co-sponsored by the Yosemite Assocation. This trip will take us on a hike to the top of a granite dome, to the beach at lovely Tenaya Lake, and through Tuolumne Meadows where we will enjoy the views of surrounding peaks, pan for gold, and look for summer wildflowers and wildlife. All meals, from the first dinner through the last breakfast, are included. We will stay in a quiet corner of the Tuolumne Meadaows campground. Sign-up are through the Yosemite Association.
